Farish A. Noor
Born in 1967, Farish is a prominent academic, political scientist, human-rights activist and columnist whose writings frequently appear in The New Straits Times, Malaysiakini.com and Sin Chew Jit Poh. His books are "Terrorising the Truth" (JUST World Trust, 1997), "New Voices of Islam" (ISIM, 2002) and "The Other Malaysia" (Silverfish Books, 2002). He has lectured at the Centre for Civilisational Dialogue, Universiti Malaya; the Institute for Islamic Studies, Freie University of Berlin; and the Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World (ISIM), Leiden, the Netherlands. His new book is "Islam Embedded: The Historical Development of PAS" (2003).
